David Parenti, L.M.F.T.



David Parenti is a licensed marriage and family therapist with a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Kutztown University. David was an off site supervisor and did post-graduate work in supervision with Hahnemann University. He is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). David has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, individuals, couples and families. He has consulted at the Head Start preschool program, has provided mental health and drug and alcohol assessments for a student assistance program at a local high school. His professional experience also includes being a Behavioral Specialist for a wrap around program and has provided therapeutic consultation for elementary school children with problem behaviors at a local school working systemically with their parents and teachers. In his work with families, David utilizes Structural and Strategic family therapy approaches. In addition to Strategic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is often his methodology when working with individual clients. David also conducts sessions with couples, often through Solution Based Therapy. He recently celebrated his 10th year at Family Guidance Center.
